AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL RUN 2011

Some people will ride a thousand miles for a great party. Well in Australia that’s precisely how far some Brothers had to travel to reach the BANDIDOS MC National Run 2011 hosted by the Sunshine Coast Chapter in Queensland.



This years run was combined with the annual chapters bike-hotrod-tattoo show, which has been going for over 8 years now.

The run started for a lot of Brothers for up to a week before as they burnt up the miles on our major highways either up or down our coast roads or inland for some who enjoyed our beautiful countryside. Picking up chapters along the way is the norm but the miles puts machine to the test and breakdowns are inevitable, but hey, that’s all part of the time spent with Brothers along the way. Everyone got to either the clubhouse or the resort in one piece and it was time to quench our thirst, in abundance!!



Friday we gathered for the meeting of the Brotherhood and afterwards it was out and about having a feed or a drink with Brothers, some we hadn’t seen for quite some time. It was a big catch-up for some that night with sore heads in the early hours but as was seen a few had their hangover cure sorted with a swim at the resort pool or in the big blue of Caloundra.



The major crime squad did their usual bullshit roadblocks trying to fuck with anything Bandido but as usual we came through unscathed & enjoyed the excellent turnout hosted by the local chapter.

The show started out cloudy with patches of rain but nothing could hold back the crowd of people that came through the gates that day.
It was and has always been a family day where everyone gets to see or have some amusement whether it’s the burnout pad going nonstop, the kickboxing ring, jumping castle for the kids or the trade stalls surrounding the best bikes, cars or hotrods money can buy.



The drinks flowed freely throughout the day as the smell of burning rubber permeated through the air, or if it was your style you could feel the grunt of nitrous injected muscle cars challenging their owners for the best of the horsepower on the rollers of the dyno.

If this wasn’t your thing the tattoo comp was in full swing on stage mc’d by Bull 1%er showing of some of the best skin art for miles around. There were multiple categories in both male & female with some awesome trophies handed out for bike, car & tattoos towards the end of the day.



Music was pumping out via the live band & with some patrons charged by their favourite drinks it got the girls dancing & cheering for more.

This year we managed to fill an entire resort as well as accommodation across the road, so wherever you went it was either Bandido, supporters or their families you came across.

It was great to see so many brothers from Denmark & Germany enjoying the company of the Red & Gold Nation whether it was at the resort, the beach or just taking in the sunshine down the main street. Bandidos everywhere!!

Saturday night at the Sunshine Coasts clubhouse started out with a smorgasbord dinner with some very interesting company ranging from supporters up to our very well respected Australian Charter members.
There was a live band & copious amounts of refreshments being restocked on a regular basis which kept the conversations, laughter & good times rolling right through the night.



Well done to all our Brothers who had been presented with their patches by some of our finest amongst a massive show of Brotherhood on that night.

The weekend wasn’t over for many Brothers who had bought their families with them so over the next few days to a week there was the familiar roar of Harleys & the Bandidos Patch to be seen in the neighborhood and on the highways of the Australian eastern coast.

The Nationals, Secretaries, Members and supporters who made this years National Run a success should be congratulated for a well planned event from all your Brothers in this Great Nation, doing what we do best - BROTHERHOOD !!
