This year, the annual National Run of the Bandidos MC Europe took place on a former Russian military airfield in Zerbst, which is a small town close to the city of Magdeburg in eastern Germany. The whole event took 5 days and in the end, everybody was happy.
That’s the facts and it sounds easy, but it was anything else than easy for the Bandidos MC Europe to organise this traditional event.
The organisers had to fight a long way through bureaucracy and it has never been so difficult to realise this run for the brothers in Germany.
Originally, the National Run 2011 was planed in the German city of Gelsenkirchen. The local members found a good spot for this event already, but the City of Gelsenkirchen made it impossible for the owner of the place, to rent it out for an event like that and it was not about any details of the hire contract, but Bandidos MC was just not welcome.
As the Bandidos MC realised, that there was almost no chance to hold this party in the Ruhr area, the decision was made to move the event to Germanys East, where people seen a better chance to get all the important licenses.
So the Magdeburg Chapter started to work things out. First, the plan was to hold the event at Magdeburgs town hall and at the surrounding area but the Commune of the city didn’t like this idea either. Even if the Magdeburg chapter has a good relation to the commune of the city, decision makers were scared about, what could happen if thousands of Bandidos from all over the world were coming for days to celebrate.
Time was getting short now and the pressure got bigger and bigger. It was June already and the Club had still no party place. Everywhere, where a commune or any other administrative office had to take the decision, to whom the place was rented out, the Bandidos got told that they were not welcome. But an old military airport outside the city seemed to be a lot better to hold a party like this and the owner was a privat person. Finally the Bandidos got a place which was big enough to hold an event like that and after the contract was made, it didn’t took long, till the local press published plenty of articles were they talked about, that a “criminal motorcycle gang” will run over Zerbst with more than 5000 people. In the local public, these rumours caused panic and scariness. Many points and rules were discussed between the Bandidos and the local commune, till a concept was worked out, which was acceptable for both sides.
After all, the solid work started. Magdeburg Chapter had to plan and built the campground, and made everything ready to host this big group of brothers, supporters and friends of the club.
From Wednesday on, people from all over Europe arrived at the party area. All of them found a clean and good organised campground and an awesome party program had been arranged. Beside Bandidos bottom rockers from Italy, France, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland, members from Asia and Australia attended this event. In between the Bandidos MC Patches, many other Red and Gold Patches from European Support Clubs and the colours of other clubs were present.
During the following days, there was a large program. In the daytime, everybody had the chance to find out, who got the fastest bike and race at the landing fields of the airport. In the evening the party spirit was attracted of cage fights, different kinds of music and hot girls. Some people forgot the time and partied all night long together with international brothers and friends. On Saturday night, there was a Harley Davidson auction, followed by a big fire show. Further the Bandidos MC opened the new full chapters Bamberg, Weiden, Bad Königshofen and Streelitz as the new Prospect Chapters Leverkusen, Düren and Northgate. Last but not least the Prospect Chapter Mühlheim became Probationary status.
Bandidos MC Europe sends a fat thanx to the Magdeburg Chapter for hosting a perfect organised National Run 2011.
