Super Rally Finland 2009

Every year, one of Europes biggest Harley Davidson events, the Super Rally, takes place in another European country. This year it was located in Seinäjoki/ Finland.

We started from Denmark Tuesday the 26 of May early in the morning by taking the ferry from Elsinore.
We drove up through a beautyfull Sweden on a sunny day and passed Stockholm around 2pm. At 5 pm we reached Sundsval and got a cabin with a very nice seeview.

The next day we took of from Sundsval around noon, headed for Umeå a mid size city located on the East Coast of Sweden, where we had to catch the ferry at 8 pm.
It was a cold rainy day and a digi sign told us that the temperature was 5 degrees at 2 pm. A 100 km from Umeå we saw snow lying at the side of the road and we knew, that the possibility for a very cold Superally was there.

We reached the ferry at 6.30 pm and here we met some brothers from Helsingborg Chapter and boarded the ferry.
Its a 4.5 hours long ferry trip and all the bikers who was on the boat kept the cafeteria workers busy.
When we reached Vasa on the Finnish side, the watch passed midnight, but still we had daylight, a pretty funny phenomen for people who aren`t used to that. All bikes was lined up and a custom dude and a dog who looked like a fox zig, zagged the big pack, without any luck, i still wonder what they where looking for?

After that funny event we took of and outside the customs area our brothers were waiting for us with a few Prospects and Supporters, ready to take us the last 90 km to Seinäjoki where the Super Rally was taking place. We arrived around 2 am and after check in, we had a great night!

Thursday the 28 of May, Super Rally opend at 12 pm and we, who came the night before, went to a nearby petrol station to pick up the pack comming from Helsinki, with a large group of German Bandidos. On our way there we saw a lot of police cars and bikes looking like they where waiting for somebody.
We met all the brothers and in a big pack we all headed for the Super Rally. Just 3 km from the citylimit the cops took all of us in on a rest area where we all had to blow a alcohol test, of cause nobody had a problem with that.

When we arrived at the main entrance, a lot more bikes than we expected were allready waiting in lines, but as members of Bandidos Motorcycleclub we didn`t had to wait in those lines, we got our own lines made by the police and we had to go through a search tent with our bikes, to be examinated for what ever, but after all they didn`t had any dogs, so it couldn`t be drugs they were looking for and still again, i don`t have a clue what the hell they were looking for. They padded my pockets very firmly, checked passport, drivers license and bike papers and told me to go in ”all clear”. But they didn`t check my saddelbags and i told them if it was a mistake, who dosn`t wanna help out, but no,no. They said they trusted me and could see that it wasn`t my first Super Rally and couldn`t see any reason to search my 2 big saddelbags, WHAT A FUCKING JOKE!



Anyway, we went down to the Bandido camp made by all our Finnish chapters and it sure was a big surprice to see such a well organised camp, with our own bar, 24 hours kitchen and connecting private park for the brothers who wanted to camp out in tent. What more could possible be missing, oh yeah of cause i nearly forgott, good looking dancing girls He.he!



Nothing was left out and once again thank you, to our Finnish brothers for a very well organized Super Rally camp, it sure was 1st. class.



Well the party went on and we all had a great weekend, with a surprising excellent weather with full sun every day and temperatures between 23-28 degrees, what more can you dream of on such a run.



A large nummber of European clubs and individual bikers was there and we where told that 12.000 Harley Davidsons passed the counters, lots of nice bikes, good looking girls and great music, a real trip to remember, well done Finland.
