Dia de los Muertos
When someone dies, a memorial service is made. One year later there will be a memory party.
This is repeated annually. In a big world club, like the Bandidos, with a lot of members worldwide, such dates are quite common and are getting more and more. It is simply not possible to drive to all these dates. For this reason, the Gelsenkirchen Bandidos, launched a very special party, the Dias de los Muertos - the day of the dead.
At this party, all club members and friends who are no longer with us will be remembered. In Mexico, this day has a long tradition and it is celebrated in an magnificant style. We remember the deceased and celebrate it instead of feeling sad, says the president Bandido Paul from Gelsenkirchen. The bandidos from the heart of the Ruhr area can do that very well.
A marquee was setup so that everyone had enough space, everything was decorated very lovingly and on the big stage, the pictures of all deceased Bandidos and friends were put up or hung. There were more than 120 pictures from the last 20 years and some were missing.
A mariachi band from Mexico played music and of course there was still more music. There was a large selection of different foods and also for the Gelsenkirchener had also set up another marquee with more than 500 grave lights, lots of flowers and garlands formed a beautiful frame. On a large TV, videos of various funerals alternated with pictures of the deceased.
The dead were honoured, and it was a very beautiful occasion, also for this event accordingly a lot of Bandidos, friends and relatives came. One saw members from France, Sweden, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Finland, Norway and of course from Germany. Some motorcycle clubs from the region came and definatly not missed were the police officers.
All in all, it was a very nice celebration with a great background and it will always take place on the first Saturday of November in Gelsenkirchen. You can already remember this date.
