On July the 4th 2009, Bandidos Prospect Chapter Regensburg had organized to represent the Bandidos MC with a lot of other Chapters at a K-1 Fightnight in Neumarkt, which is very centrally located in Bavaria. This is why their Red and Gold colours were seen on the Bavarian streets more than usual on this day. In the afternoon about 60 Bandidos met together in the Bavarian town of Neumarkt in order to form an “armada” to ride through the city to the K-1-event.
Bandido chapters Allersberg, Ingolstadt, Munich, Passau, Starnberg, Deggendorf and Prospect Chapter Regensburg, supported by the Zapatas MC, all came together for the ride to where the fights would take place. Immediately after arriving at the first meeting point, a few police cars were also gathering, eager to have the honour to escort the Bandidos convoy. When we arrived in front of the hall, you could see that this “Red and Gold performance” was the first impressing thing for the audience to see on this evening!
A few of our best customised bikes were even driven into the Fightnight hall within the view of the fighting arena. Of course the seat reservation for the Bandidos MC was nothing else than the front row.
Then for a few hours we watched different fights of varying quality. Besides the K-1 fights an amateur interlude of wrestling also granted a more or less humorous side show. In between the single fights, during the breaks, there was always a great interest by the sponsor of the event and the local newspaper and other visitors to get pictures with some Bandidos beside one of the fighters or in front of the bikes, which we kindly agreed to.
After the fight night, between Midnight and 1am. we all started to depart in the same way that we had all arrived a few hours before. But not all of us rode directly home or to one of the clubhouses. A few members of Prospect Chapter Regensburg rode directly to visit a party of a club near Straubing, that is in close friendship with us and we all had a very good time there with those guys.
On the whole, the Bandidos MC visit to this K-1 Fightnight can be considered a very successful event. The next steps for Red and Gold activities in connection with Martial Arts events are already in the planning. Perhaps next time we can even attend a bigger and more international event.
